JL and JT are the starting point
The SnapLok Low listing identifies Wrangler JL from 2018 onward and Gladiator JT from 2020 onward, with the required compatible OEM rock-slider profile. Equipment can vary with trim and options, so the model year is only the first check.
Compare your rail with the listing photographs before purchase. Older JK/JKU applications are not confirmed by this guide. Do not choose the JL/JT product solely because another Jeep appears similar.
What the Low configuration changes
The SnapLok Low stepping platform is approximately three inches below the compatible factory slider. That lower position is intended to make everyday cab entry and exit easier without replacing the factory rail with permanent running boards.
The step is removable when you need the clearance of the original rock slider. Treat it as an access step, not an added rock-protection component.
Mounting and retention are separate
The step hooks over the compatible rail and snaps into position. The tensioned SnapLok mechanism then provides secondary retention. Included anti-theft security hardware adds a further retention option after mounting.
Use the current installation manual for the correct clip selection, adjustment and security-hardware procedure. This buying guide is not a substitute for those instructions.
How many access points do you need?
A pair provides two steps for your preferred access positions. A four-step set provides two per side for front and rear access. Confirm the quantities currently offered in the product options and the positions supported by your rails.
